After a long battle finally Most controversial film of the Year “Lipstick under my Burkha” got a certificate from CBFC. It’s a lady- oriented film; initially the film has been banned due to some abusive words and sexual scenes. Alakrita Shrivastava is the director of this film and Prakash Jha is the producer. Ekta Kapoor is the distributor of this film. During launch the second trailer, she said,” I have no problem with CBFC, my problem with the whole society, which talks about same thing but its own way.”
Basically, the story “Lipstick under my Burkha” about four women and their struggles to live a life they have desired but gripped with patriarchal boundaries.
A burkha- clad girl struggles with issues of cultural identity and aspirations to become a pop singer. A young two- timing beautician, look after escape the claustrophobia of her small town. An oppressed wife and mother of three children, lives the alternate life of an enterprising saleswoman. And a 55 year old widow rediscovers her sexuality through her phone romance.
Ratna Pathak Shah, Konkona Sensharma, Ahana Kumra and Plabita Borthakur played the lead roles in the film. They are really brilliant and experienced actors.
“Lipistick Under my Burkha” has won various awards in International film festival .It will be release in India on 21st July.
