Trimming hair is basically for two reasons, first is aesthetic look and the second is to stop the development of the split ends. Split ends tend to climb up the hair shaft and cause breakage. As a matter of fact, every time you brush your hair the broken ends would fall down and make your hair look shorter.

So yes, it is very important to trim hair, but don’t think it will escalate your hair growth.

Just like skin, to make your hair look healthy from the outside, you need to stay fit from inside. Each strand of hair are made up of protein.”Hair and nails are both protein fibers,” says dermatologist Paradi Mirmirani, to make them grow faster, you need to feed them with protein. Add dairy products and nuts in your diet. Vitamin C and A helps in strengthening your hair and in the production of sebum, respectively. No Over Washing

“Hair produces natural oil called sebum, and shampoo is an emulsifier that captures and traps excess oil, dirt, and product residue, which you then rinse out to clean the hair. For the most part, some dirt is OK and natural and you definitely want some oils to remain in your hair. ” Says Angela Lamb, an assistant professor of dermatology in New York City.

Wash your hair once or twice in a week and only shampoo your scalp. Remember, never skip your conditioner as it has oils in their formula.

Don’t Burn Your Hair

The heat really dries the hair. When your hair is dry, it gets damaged and start splitting at the ends and what it does in the end is you need to cut your hair because it is damaged and it’s going to restrict your hair from growing.

Blow dryers remove the moisture and water from the surface that make hair dry and dull. Irons and Curlers damage the edges of your cuticle that at the end leads to split ends.

P.S. If it is really important then use conditioner which has cetrimonium chloride in its formula, it will reduce heat damage. Remember ONLY REDUCE.

Tea Tree Oil!

Tea tree oil removes dead cells, unclog hair follicles and boost the immune system. It moisturizes the scalp and keep it free from fungal and bacterial infection, so that your scalp remains healthy and that eventually leads to hair growth.

Mix a few drops of tea tree oil with carrier oils like Olive or Almond or Jojoba and massage the mixture onto the scalp. For better result mix Tea tree oil with castor oil as it contains omega-6 essential fatty acids, which accelerate blood circulation, hence increase hair growth.

P.S. Never use tea tree oil without an another oil because it will then oil dry your hair.
